Metallurgy & machining
Tool marks, grain flow and heat-tint on polished or machined parts — contrast where flat lighting gives none.
The single biggest image-quality upgrade for reflective work. Slide the polarizer in and specular glare from solder, anodised metal and glossy coatings disappears — what is left is structure: grain, tool marks, cracks, residue.
The UB-DM023P is a glare-control digital microscope: a 2 megapixel CMOS handheld with real 10–200× magnification and a switchable, rotatable polarizer. Sliding the filter in removes specular reflections from solder joints, anodised metal and glossy coatings, leaving grain, tool marks and cracks visible. Connects over WiFi or USB 2.0.
Every polished surface fights back. Ring LEDs bounce straight off solder mask, brushed aluminium and cured resin, washing out exactly the features an inspector is paid to find. The DM023P attacks the problem optically — a rotatable polarizing filter on the body crosses out specular reflections before they ever reach the sensor.
The effect is not a filter preset. Grain structure in metals, subsurface cracks, flux residue and printed texture all gain contrast that software denoising cannot synthesise. And because the filter switches on the body, the same unit handles glossy coins at lunchtime and matte PCBs after — no second device.

Tool marks, grain flow and heat-tint on polished or machined parts — contrast where flat lighting gives none.
Die marks, doubling and surface wear on coins and artefacts — the difference between a grade and a guess.
Reduced specular noise on questioned documents and trace evidence — pairs well with our IR model for layered examination.
UBOE is a B2B manufacturer and OEM/ODM partner. We supply distributors, own-brand sellers and clinic chains rather than end users, so a quotation is built around your market, volume and branding instead of being published as a list price. This is how the commercial side normally works.
Neutral units can start from sample quantities. OEM branding typically begins at pilot-batch level, and a full ODM programme needs enough volume to amortise tooling. Tell us your target volume and we will confirm what is realistic rather than quote a number we cannot hold.
What we customise: logo and silk-screen, retail packaging, firmware defaults, splash screen, application branding, measurement workflow and ISP image tuning. Non-standard wavelengths are quoted per project.
Pricing is quoted per configuration, quantity and customisation scope. Send your target market, expected volume and required branding to [email protected].
Yes — it slides and rotates on the barrel, so you can go from fully polarised to fully clear in one motion. Translucent or matte samples often image better with it off.
Polarisation helps with skin too, but the dedicated UB-DM023B dermatoscope adds UV and clinical colour calibration. For clinics we recommend the DM023B; for general inspection with occasional skin use, the DM023P is fine.
No — it is a passive optical filter. Sensor resolution, frame rate and colour pipeline are identical to the non-polarised platform.

We verify every new contact. Enquiries are checked against a real company name and website before we quote — that is why we ask for your company details below. Marketing, SEO and web-design pitches are declined; genuine buyers get a reply within one business day.
